As we have been dealing with the covid pandemic for more than a year, it is paramount that to find solutions in order to open up the economy more, and to allow people to live happily with their friends and family. The best solution to protect everyone at this time is widespread vaccination. However, due to the fear of side effects, new covid strains, or just a lack of motivation, some people are not eager to receive a vaccine. On the other hand, of those who do want a vaccine, some may be older and have visual or functional difficulties, making it hard for them and their social support systems to get them vaccinated. This is why we created our app. A system where multiple users can be registered, in order to support users living in a household with multiple people, or who need to help family. It contains all steps of the vaccination process, from information, to registration and booking, support for any side effects users may experience, and a green pass at the end to reward users for getting complete vaccine doses.
To combat the pandemic, the government requires every citizen to be vaccinated as soon as possible. And with the advancement of the policy, after two doses of vaccine, the government also requires supplementary injections after each period of time. However, there is currently no mature vaccine management system, and in some countries it is still a manual telephone call to remind citizens of the time to get a vaccine. Vaccine information is not universal to the public, and the process of vaccine appointments is not clear.
How might we provide support throughout the vaccination experience and streamline the process in oder to meet people's needs?
The objective of the research is to understand what issues may be impeding the vaccination process and know users expectations
We thought of the interview questions from three aspects: the access to vaccination news, their vaccination experiences, their expectations about the vaccination process and we have generated thirty questions in these three aspects. A total of twelve users participated in our interviews, more than half of whom had been vaccinated. We concluded all the answers and analyzed them in groups.

“I want to be fully vaccinated, but I’m a bit worried about my second dose.”
“I have finished two shots of vaccine, so I’m not worried about my health, but I still pay close attention to the real-time situation of the pandemic.”

Giuseppe is a student suffering from the restrictions of the covid situation. He is looking forward to meeting his friends again, and really hopes to be able to safely participate in night-life activities again soon. He hopes to get the vaccine as soon as possible, use his vaccinated status to access events and venues that were restricted from covid.
He downloads the app, and registers for the vaccine by adding his personal information. He chooses the vaccine center and date to book his first appointment. As he waits for his second appointment, he checks the app to see how long is left until he can book it. He receives a notification when it is time to book his second appointment, and immediately books it. Now that he’s had both doses of the vaccine, he opens the ‘green pass’ page and puts in his two vaccine receipt numbers to unlock the pass certification.
Paolina has just had her first dose, and has some mild symtoms. She has heard about potential dangerous vaccine side-effects on the news, and is concerned about the following symptoms. She’s not sure if she wants to get her second dose, due to the risks.
She opens the app and goes to the ‘Information’ page, to read more about risk of side effects from her second dose. Then, she has some questions about a specific piece of information, so she opens the ‘Health Assistant chat’ to find out more. She feels more reassured from what she has learned, and books her second dose. After the dose, she has some reactions, so she goes to ‘Symptom Assstance’ page to log her symptoms for the day, and gets some suggestions from the app.
